WIX Racing’s Adam Morgan endured a difficult weekend in the MSA British Touring Car Championship at his home circuit Oulton Park last weekend, but remained positive after showing great improvement over the three race programme.
Torrential rain during the two practice sessions made set-up of the Mercedes A Class difficult and Adam’s qualifying proved disappointing after a spin on the drying track. A slight contact and heavy traffic meant Adam only had an 18th place to show for his efforts in the first two races despite his fast pace. Slower cars on the new International track layout again made it difficult for Adam in the third race where he eventually finished 18th after making up eight places. He said, “I am disappointed to be leaving with no points for the first and hopefully last time this year but improvements have been made and the car was again just getting better and better.”
Adam collected the most points in the Jack Sears Trophy by improving his start position by 15 places during all three races, the best of the entire grid, leaving him 6th in the table. Adam is now joint 14th in the Drivers’ Championship, 11th in the Independent Drivers Championship and the WIX Racing team are joint 5th in the Independent Teams Championship.
