There are different versions of the tensioner pulley V55739, included in the timing belt kits supplied by Continental.

These are used in various 1.4 and 2.0l TDi EA180 common-rail engines from Audi/Seat/Škoda/VW. Continental explains the differences and information you need to know.

The two versions of the tensioner pulley can both be used in the designated vehicle models without any problems. Both versions are tensioned by turning them clockwise. The position of the adjustment slot is different.
  • Version 1: The adjustment slot is at 1 o’clock.
  • Version 2: The adjustment slot is at 10 o’clock. Once the belt has been fitted, the locking pin must be pulled out.
The rest of the tensioning procedure is identical to version 1.
