Total product confidence & availability from Shaftec

Product availability is more important than ever in the automotive parts market at present and one company that is working tirelessly to ensure it always has the components the market needs is Shaftec.

Everything from core acceptance to the boxing of fully tested, shelf ready, product happens at its dedicated facility in the UK Midlands and this, combined with a £5million stockholding at any one time, means it is always one step ahead when it comes to availability.

The company was founded in 1979 and the Shaftec brand introduced in 1995. Believed to have been the first UK remanufacturer of CV joints & driveshafts, Shaftec is now firmly recognised as a market leader across the remanufacturing sector, supplying steering, braking and transmission components for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles.

Shaftec aims to provide its customers with whatever they need, whenever they need it to keep their own businesses moving smoothly. To enhance efficiency, bolster productivity and amplify its square footage, the company consolidated the entire business into one facility in 2015. In 2018, it further increased capacity by 8000sqft by adding a mezzanine floor meaning it now has 50,000sqft of production and storage space in total. This all means Shaftec has the room to keep an extremely healthy supply of finished stock as well as any ancillary parts which are sourced from OE suppliers in Europe.

Shaftec also invests in new machinery and technology and focuses on new to range parts to keep pace with the ever changing car parc, especially with regards to electric steering. As well as this the company invests heavily in its forecasting ability and works closely with partners TecAlliance to be able to offer customers the most reliable and up to date technical data.

Based on the confidence it has in its product and remanufacturing capabilities, as an added plus for customers, Shaftec has recently extended the warranty terms for its driveshafts and CV Joints from 24 month or 24,000 miles to five years or 60,000 miles.
