Somora - one stop shop for body repair needs

Lack of new and used car availability has put increased focus on the body repair sector in Ireland at present, with motorists keen to have damaged vehicles repaired to a high standard and keep them on the road. To ensure this happens, bodyshops, and in the case of smaller repairs garages, need access to a comprehensive range of competitively priced repair parts, panels and ancillaries and Dublin based distributor Somora is satisfying this need.

Somora has been a specialist distributor of body parts and lighting since 1985 and from day one, it has strived to offer the accident repair sector in Ireland, through its Motor Factor partners, everything it needs from one source.

Purchasing Manager at Somora, William Monahan comments, “Although we have significantly expanded our hard parts offering in line with customer demand over recent years, it is body panels, repair parts and lighting that remain at the core of our business. Today our range is bigger than ever, often offering different price point options to meet all budgets.”

Somora has always been well known for its supply of body parts and panels with an all makes range and extensive stocks of bonnets, wings, crossmembers, front panel assemblies and more. These are all high quality items ensuring ease of fit and most are certified by world-renowned testing organisations such as TÜV, CZ, Thatcham and CAPA.

Bumpers, grilles, wheel arch liners and small trim pieces are also kept in stock, with a range tuned to Irish market needs and again supplied with a Limited Lifetime Guarantee and Matching Quality Certification. Also available is a comprehensive door mirror range, including complete units, with all required internal housing, relevant wiring, plugs and connections for heating and electronics, Door Mirrors Covers, and replacement mirror glass and mirror lamps.

Lighting is also a main stay of the Somora portfolio with headlamps, tail lamps, indicators, fog lamps and more all available from leading brands including Magneti Marelli and Hella.

William comments, “We are constantly fine tuning the range to ensure it covers all repairer needs and we are very conscious of the fact that bodyshops have to repair the very latest vehicles, so we source parts promptly to ensure this is possible.” He also explains that product availability is key to Somora. He says, “Many market suppliers cut back on stock during the pandemic, but we maintained and in some places increased, our stock levels. It means we are very well placed to satisfy demand, even on many hard to source items.”

The combination of quality products, excellent availability and competitive pricing, is currently proving to be a real winner with Irish bodyshops. With increased flexibility when it comes to parts choice on many insurance jobs, it makes perfect sense to keep repair costs down without compromising on quality. This has helped many vehicles to be repaired and stay on the road, when they may in some circumstances, have been written-off.

As well as body parts, panels and lighting, Somora also provides a comprehensive refinish offering including; paints, preparation materials, PPE, abrasives, masking, cleaning and valeting products. It is also well placed to supply any hard part replacement components related to the accident repair.

William says, “Somora is a long established Irish family based business that prides itself on high levels of customer service. Many of the supplier companies we deal with share our philosophy and have also retained sufficient independence to react swiftly to market needs. This means that when it comes to new products and new innovations, we are always at the forefront of development and can make sure we can meet customer requirements in the most effective way.”

The complete Somora range is available from Motor Factors nationwide.  A full product catalogue and VRM look up, to assist with correct parts identification is available at www.somora.ie.
