Dayco heads to UK Garage & Bodyshop Event after RDS success

The Dayco team have been back getting face to face with garages and delivering training and information at aftermarket events, including Autoinform Live in Dublin.

Dayco’s National Sales Manager, Steve Carolan was delighted with the recent event at the RDS. He commented, “It was good to be back in Ireland for Autoinform LIVE, where my colleague, Ann-Marie, and I were addressing two subjects in our sessions. The first was the design of FEAD systems and their drive components, including new belt materials and the importance of using the correct, vehicle specific application and the second concerned belt in oil systems, and focused on the design, installation and service/maintenance best practice requirements for the Ford EcoBoost and PSA PureTech timing systems.”

He added, “As was normal for an Autoinform Live event, the feedback from the technicians attending was really positive and there was a definite buzz to the occasion, which was the first time for two years that the trade had been able to get together and come to a gathering of that size. After the positives of Autoinform LIVE in Ireland, we’re off to Birmingham and the UK Garage & Bodyshop Event at the NEC in June.”

Steve points out that one of the messages Dayco is keen to get across is the need to remain focused on current technology and that of the immediate future associated with combustion engines because, although electric and hybrid vehicles are all the rage, realistically, workshops will still be dealing with petrol and diesel engine technology for at least the next decade.

He says, “In common with many of the components fitted to the modern vehicle, timing and auxiliary drive system replacement is a highly skilled process that requires attention to detail and the necessity to strictly follow a series of procedures in order to be completed successfully, which is why we are so committed to providing relevant training. Technical education at all levels of the industry is paramount to its ongoing success and fortunately there are keen and committed technicians out there who really want to develop their skills and do the best possible job they can. To that end, it’s our goal to help the entire trade to reach that standard, which is why Dayco is not only committed to supplying OE quality products and the best possible technical advice, but first-class training as well.”
