Optimal highlights electric vehicle expertise

German parts specialist Optimal had a major presence at Automechanika Frankfurt launching both new product ranges and support and information initiatives.

One of the main focuses was on the company’s expertise in the field of parts supply for the rapidly expanding electric and hybrid vehicle parc. This was reflected in a new catalogue for electric and hybrid vehicles. This includes more than 1,500 references and covers more than 30 brands and 150 vehicle models, including well-known electric cars such as the BMW i3, Renault Twizy, Smart, Nissan Leaf and the Tesla Model S as well as popular hybrid vehicles like the Toyota Prius, Audi A8 2.0 TFSI Hybrid and Mercedes S 400 Hybrid.  All of these references are also available in TecDoc and on other digital catalogue platforms.

On display for the first time at Automechanika was the new Optimal range of Wheel drive components, which includes, drive shafts, joints and boot sets. These wheel drive components can be purchased individually or as a complete, ready to install kit giving the workshop more flexibility. A new range of flexible couplings  also generated considerable interest on the stand.

One of the features of the stand was that each product display had a unique QR code which visitors could scan to access instant detailed product information online. These QR codes are now also being rolled out on all new Optimal product packaging. This means that both stockist and technicians will be able to quickly access comprehensive product information and specification and application information about individual products. The online information also includes detailed images and links to fitting information saving time and making product identification easier.
