NGK Spark Plugs (UK) Ltd has announced that it has officially changed the name of its UK AND Ireland operations to Niterra UK Ltd.

The company revealed in January this year that it was to change its name to Niterra, which is a coined word which combines the Latin words ‘niteo’ meaning ‘shine’ and ‘terra” meaning “earth’.

While the group changed its name to Niterra from the beginning of its new fiscal year on April 1st, 2023, there is no change to the company’s OE and aftermarket brands, NGK and NTK.

In a letter to stakeholders from Managing Director Marko Wowczyna and Tim Howes, Deputy General Manager, Supply Chain & Technical Services, it was stated that both brands are being retained and will continue to be used for the company’s respective ignition and vehicle electronics ranges and it will be business as usual with both brands to continue to play a vital role in the market and the ongoing success of the organisation.

All general terms and conditions of sale, ongoing contracts as well as all related rights and obligations of the company will remain unchanged in the future. Products, article numbering and production processes are unaffected by the name change, as are administration details.

The existing web domain name www.ngkntk.com/uk and email addresses remain unaffected until later in 2023 when further communication will be provided.
