Niterra UK Ltd marked its 50th anniversary celebrations in spectacular fashion at Automechanika Birmingham, drawing crowds to its stand for a series of special events.

The show opened with a special address from Managing Director Marko Wowczyna, who reflected on the company’s five-decade journey from a small warehouse in Hendon to a leading force in the Irish and UK aftermarkets. He said: “Today is not just a celebration of the history of Niterra UK and our NGK Ignition Parts and NTK Vehicle Electronics brands - but a declaration of intent for our future. We’re proud of our legacy but even more excited for what lies ahead.”

The centrepiece of the morning was the dramatic unveiling of the iconic John Player Special Lotus F1 car (Mario Andretti’s Lotus 79) a symbol of Niterra’s long-standing ties with motorsport excellence. Once revealed, the car was an instant hit, drawing big crowds throughout the show.

Later Marko was joined by IAAF Chief Executive Mark Field for a Q&A. Mark especially praised Niterra’s role in supporting garages and motor factors.

There was also a special appearance by NGK Spark Plugs motorsport ambassadors Charlie Martin and Max Coates.
