To meet increasing demand for high-precision sensors MEYLE expanded its electronics range by more than 500 items last year and has further range extensions are planned for 2021. The focus is on ABS sensors and product groups from the field of engine and exhaust gas management, such as crankshaft and camshaft sensors, coolant temperature sensors, intake manifold pressure sensors, exhaust pressure and exhaust temperature sensors, and lambda sensors.

Sensor malfunctions can compromise the operation of the engine, increase fuel consumption and emissions and cause the engine light to illuminate. MEYLE can offer high quality replacements in OE-compliant specifications. Dominik Overmann, leader of MEYLEs electrics team says. “Every sensor has the same electronic signal as the OE version. This is necessary to ensure seamless interplay with the appropriate control unit and so that the system functions correctly.”

MEYLE sensors are not only linked to the correct disassociations at the level of vehicle models and years of construction but are given additional information on the assignments down to the corresponding engine codes and installation positions. Continuous expansion of the range ensures a broad coverage of the vehicle applications that are most in demand around the world.

In the exhaust management category, MEYLE offers an extensive portfolio of exhaust temperature, exhaust pressure and lambda probes. In this area MEYLE engineers have studied OE sensors specifications and found many perform identical functions but numbers vary due to connector colours. Dominik says, “The MEYLE data managers and engineers attach particular importance to clever consolidation of products that function identically, also making everyday life for MEYLE customers easier by reducing complexity and storage.”

Across sensors for assistance systems, engine and exhaust management, ignition and glow systems and windscreen and headlight cleaning systems, MEYLE offers high-quality products and competitive rates of coverage. The comprehensive electronics portfolio is constantly updated according to market needs. For example, the MEYLE ABS sensor ring, which offers a unique IAM electronics solution.

Thanks to detailed research on application and vehicle data, MEYLE guarantees that all products fit accurately, a key criterion that enables the fast and correct identification of parts for workshops and minimises return costs and effort. The systematic analysis of product specifications and comparison with the researched data mean that product consolidations are implemented and the market is given the opportunity to optimise its stock without having to compromise in terms of market coverage and quality.
