MAM makes cloud milestone

MAM Software has reported that its cloud-hosted business management solutions have now been deployed to over 1,000 active distribution and retail users in the UK and Ireland.

Over the last 12 months, 75% of new MAM customers chose the Software as a Service (SaaS) option over the traditional licensing and delivery model, citing simplified IT maintenance, security and scalability as some of the reasons for choosing cloud hosting.

MAM’s range of cloud-hosted business management solutions provide all the functionality of its on-premise solutions, but are accessed from servers located off-site. The service is hosted on scalable, fully-managed infrastructure, and accessed on a monthly subscription basis.

"Our business management solutions have been developed to streamline core operational tasks including order processing, stock management, accounting and e-commerce," said Mike Jamieson, CEO at MAM Software. "We launched cloud hosting as part of a next generation of management solutions, allowing our customers to take advantage of the business agility, cost advantage and efficiency of the cloud."

Losing crucial data, such as customer details, transactions and prices could prove disastrous for a business, which is why it should be a top priority for companies to carry out regular data backups. Cloud hosted solutions completely eliminate this task. MAM Software carries out data backups at least once daily, allowing for a complete restoration in a data loss situation.

As cloud hosted products are rented on a monthly per user basis, extending bandwidth to accommodate increasing staff numbers is handled directly from the data centre with very little configuration. This poses a benefit over the alternative on-premise version of software applications, as servers may need to be replaced or upgraded to ensure they can keep up with the extra workload.

“Our customers are embracing technological advancements in the form of cloud hosting as they provide a compelling and future-proofed alternative to traditional on-premise deployment,” continued Mike Jamieson. “We are proud to announce this significant 1000 user milestone in cloud adoption, reinforcing our position as a driver of advancing technology. We’re empowering an increasing amount of our customers with a powerful platform that enables them to harness the benefits of a fully managed service while retaining essential business functionality.”
