MAHLE Aftermarket has launched its new CareMetix cabin filter, featuring a five layer cabin filter specially designed to improve passenger health and wellbeing by removing nasty odours and harmful contaminants from vehicle cabins.

With findings demonstrating that more than 100,000 litres of air is swept into the cabin every hour when a vehicle is in operation, the new brand uses new S5 broadband technology to filter out pollutants and make a passenger’s experience as pleasant as possible.

Odours entering the cabin often derive from pungent ammonia and sulphur gases, but specific layers within the CareMetix filter remove these uninvited scents leaving the cabin fresh. Garages can offer customers a tangible difference as the innovative range provides five-layer protection against  allergens, brake dust, diesel soot, fine particulates and tyre debris that is proven to enter a car from exhaust fumes. MAHLE say not only do the filters provide exceptional protection for passengers, their cutting-edge technology also preserves the sensitive components in the HVAC system from premature wear.

The compnay also points out that conventional filters have often struggled to provide a complete solution but CareMetix’s advanced technology helps prevent the invisible danger of mildew and mould spores that linger in the air from entering the cabin. This ensures the air conditioning system is kept clean and mould build up is prevented.

MAHLE recommends changing a filter every 15,000km or once a year to maximise protection. The CareMetix range provides 72% coverage of the total European car parc with this figure set to increase as MAHLE continues to add new parts to the range.

Jonathan Walker, MAHLE Aftermarket MD, said, “CareMetix is a world first and we’re delighted to bring the range to the automotive aftermarket. Customers can benefit from our excellent point of sale material, including a quick-set display for the shop floor; branded merchandise; a distinct microsite (www.caremetix.mahle.com); and advertisements in MAHLE’s aftermarket blog.”

The CareMetix range will be ON SHOW Automechanika, Birmingham at the NEC on stand 19D50 from 6 – 8 June.
