DENSO’s Wiper Blade technology is now being used for Japan’s 320km/h commuter line  which is said to travel as fast as a speeding bullet. DENSO’s innovative Standard Wiper Blade technology has been adapted for use on the world-renowned Japanese Bullet Trains and is now fitted as the Wiper Blade of choice for the lightning-quick trains.

Using the same technology used in DENSO’s acclaimed aftermarket Wiper Blades, the DENSO blades have been adapted to fit the bullet train’s unique windscreen. The iconic bullet trains that have become a mainstay of the Tokyo-Osaka route have reduced passenger travel times from four hours to just two hours and 25 minutes, owing in part to their rapid top speeds of 320 km per hour.

To reach these speeds safely, the bullet train engineers select the highest quality parts which will perform reliably under extreme stress. Chosen for this durability in the face of even the most extreme speeds and weather condition, thanks to its unique design and all-metal blade arm, the DENSO Wiper Blade features evenly-spaced contact points to ensure a clear, streak-free clean to the train’s windshield when travelling at slower speeds.

Fatiha Laauich, Marketing Communications Manager for DENSO commented: “With our proven OE heritage, it is no surprise that our wiper blade range has found applications outside of the automotive industry. We pride ourselves on cutting-edge wiper blade technology, and the fact our Standard Blades can deliver superior cleaning for the iconic bullet trains is proof of the performance DENSO wiper blades provide for motorists.”

DENSO’s high quality wiper blade range currently covers 92.5% of the European car parc and is available for leading vehicle brands including Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Volvo. Across the aftermarket range available to workshops are three main blade types: flat, standard and hybrid blades.
