Bosch Aftermarket has released a new video in its Bosch Technuggets YouTube series. The latest episode covers changing brake discs, common causes of noise and vibrations and solutions to these problems.

In the video, Bosch experts also cover essential installation and handling techniques for smooth, quiet braking and how to prevent future issues by understanding the impact of wear and corrosion on brake discs.

The video explains what the common causes of brake noise and vibration are and how these can be avoided by following best practice procedures. The latest brake discs can be very sensitive, so require correct handling and the use of the right tools. The Bosch experts also explain the importance of only fitting replacement discs to a perfectly clean hub.

The video also stresses that when fitting a new disc the use of a hammer or impact wrench needs to be avoided for fear of causing deformation of the disc. Technicians should also avoid moving the steering axle from the disc and hub and only move with the steering wheel.

A torque wrench should be carefully used when fitting and the Bosch experts also stress the importance of correct handling of compound discs.

The video can be viewed below.
