Workshops impressed by Venom versatility

Health and safety is at the forefront of everyone’s mind at the moment and in the workshop risk comes in many forms. Often tools and practices that mechanics and technicians have used for years can be a serious danger, so innovations that reduce risk and boost efficiency have to be welcome.

Induction heating tools are changing the way the automotive workshop approach repairs as more and more garages and bodyshops discover the benefits of equipment that produces precise, safe, and reliable heat. Induction heat generates high-frequency magnetic fields and transfers this via electromagnetic waves, meaning seized parts need never come into direct contact with any flames.

One of the most popular examples of this technology is the Mini-Ductor Venom, the third generation in the Mini-Ductor series of handheld induction heaters. The Venom can invisibly heat ferrous metals in seconds and release them from corrosion or thread lock compounds quickly and safely. By doing so it can reduce job times significantly, as well as allowing the re-use of parts that might normally be discarded with open flame repairs, thus further cutting cost.

The Venom features an angled pistol-grip design along with bendable coils which allow use in the tightest spaces, where torches cannot go. It is ideal for removing lug nuts, bearings, exhaust manifold bolts, O2 sensors, tie-rod ends, vinyl graphics and much more.

In addition to the tool, the Venom comes with a carry case and three different coils: the 7/8” pre-formed coil, the U-form coil and bearing buddy coil. All coils are flexible and can be formed for a variety of applications.
