A Solution for misfueling problems

Misfuelling is a growing problem especially in European countries where diesel cars are more popular. It is estimated that last year in the UK at least 150,000 motorists put petrol into diesel fuel tanks. If this happens and is spotted at best it is a major inconvenience, means a call out charge and the tank pumped out, plus the cost of a wasted tank of fuel. However if a vehicle is started then damage can occur to the engine and the fuel pump which can mean repair bills running into thousands of euro. Worse still fuel pumps in many vehicles are often primed by the central locking system so even if a driver spots his mistake, it could be too late if he has unlocked his doors.

Auto Diesel Electric now offers a solution to the misfuelling problem in the shape of the Misfuelling Prevention Device from DDN. This unique piece of equipment physically prevents a driver from filling a diesel tank with petrol and can be fitted quickly without the need for any specialist tools. It replaces the existing filler cap and, once fitted, prevents a driver from accidentally putting a petrol nozzle into a diesel filler neck. The device can be fitted onto most existing diesel vehicles - whatever the age.

The DDN Misfuelling Prevention Device will be of particular interest to fleet vehicle operators, especially where a variety of drivers are called on to drive various diesel and petrol engine vehicles. Just eliminating one misfuel problem will quickly recover the cost of these devices and there are also other benefits in terms of vehicle safety and the environment.
