Express DPF Cleaning is a new service for garages that has just been launched as a joint venture by three leading Dublin motor factors. It aims to provide garages with a convenient and cost effective alternative to expensive DPF replacement, when the filter has become clogged and normal regeneration is no longer effective.

The companies behind the new service are Finglas Autoparts, Tallaght Autoparts and Ballyfermot Autoparts. Eugene Hilliard of Finglas Autoparts says,”Clogged DPFs are now a huge issue for our customers, often meaning NCT failure. Replacing a DPF can be very costly so we set out to find an economical but very effective alternative that could provide big cost savings and boost customer satisfaction.”

Eugene worked with Darragh Madden to identify the best solution for their customers, a process that has resulted in the installation of a state-of-the-art Flash DPF Cleaning Machine.  This unique system uses precisely calibrated jets of water mixed with a bio-enzyme cleaning agent to remove all PM10 particles, cerium and oil deposits without damaging the filter, especially its internal precious metal components. It can clean any type of particulate filter quickly with an automated cleaning and drying process that requires no cutting, baking or welding of the filter.

Eugene comments, "The cleaning process is very effective and means the filter is restored to 98% of its original new condition. The results are also fully verifiable as the machine performs before and after back pressure tests and produces a printed read out of results for the customer.”

The Flash Cleaner will allow garages to offer an effective DPF cleaning service that will restore the vehicle’s performance, reduce fuel consumption and crucially lower emissions so that a car can past its NCT. Because the service is offered through three high profile motor factors iit is convenient for garages. A fleet of sixteen vans can offer an efficient collection and delivery service, which means the DPF can be collected, cleaned and returned often on a same day basis and always with 24 hours.
