Making its debut at the recent Goodwood Festival of Speed was a new right hand drive version of the Corvette E-Ray Hybrid, a 634bhp supercar that can do 0-62mph in 2.9sec.
General Motors hope that the E-Ray can revive its fortunes in Europe alongside the relaunch of the Cadillac brand.
The car has a 6.2-litre naturally aspirated V8 engine together with a single front-mounted electric motor which adds 159bhp of electrical power to the 475bhp from the mid mounted engine. This means it offers Ferrari-like performance for a much lower price than Ferrari 296 GTB.
A 1.9kWh battery pack means that you can also make a quiet getaway, driving four miles before the engine has to kick in.
To keep the E-Ray stable on the road and make it stop quickly, it also has Brembo carbon-ceramic brake discs and magnetorheological dampers.
