The call of heavy duty

The First Line Group (FLG) has identified the need for a new heavy duty range of stabiliser links where the specification of the original item has been enhanced for greater longevity of service life and product performance.

FLG have worked closely with their manufacturing partners to identify those applications where such a product specification may be needed to cope with a more arduous working environment. In particular, focus has been given to applications such as off-road vehicles, LCVs and vehicles that are regularly used for higher mileages such as taxis and courtesy cars.

The patented products, introduced under the First Line and Borg & Beck brands, are specifically designed to be more robust and of higher quality than the original equipment components. This will provide a service life of up to three times longer than the vehicle’s standard stabiliser link, allowing independent garages to offer a value added service to their customers.

Features that differentiate the HD component from the standard part include a higher specification DuPont™ Delrin® plastic bearing (500p verses 100p), an increased ball pin base diameter and a larger bar diameter. This means the HD range possesses a plastic bearing with a higher tensile strength and is subsequently less prone to fatigue, a ball pin with superior push and pull values and a more rigid bar.

Notable references in the range include:
  • Range Rover III 01/02- Front (FDL6969HD) and rear (FDL7159HD)
  • Ford Transit 06- Front (FDL7089HD)
  • Ford Transit Connect 02- Front (FDL6565HD)
  • Opel Signum, Vectra (C)- Front (FDL6722HD).
A complete range of First Line HD stabiliser links is now available from stockists nationwide.
