Korean car- maker Kia hopes to continue its rise in the Irish market with a new sales strategy that features a seven-year 150,000km warranty on all its cars. With many manufacturers still only offering two-year warranties, Kia hopes that the peace of mind of a seven-year guarantee will have a big influence on car buyer’s decisions.
Kia also see big benefits to buyers in terms of second hand values, pointing out that someone who buys a four year old Kia in the future, will still have a three year warranty. The move is part of the company's drive to make itself the world number one for customer satisfaction and applies on a pan European basis in 20 countries. Kia describes it as a ‘bumper-to-bumper’ full manufacturer’s warranty.
Kia Ireland chief James Brooks commented: “This will appeal to all Irish motorists but will, we think, appeal especially to scrappage customers who may be planning to hold on to their new cars for another 10 years – seven of which can be worry-free if they chose Kia.”
