SEAT Ireland recently announced the appointment of Niall Phillips as its new brand director.

Niall Phillips has a wealth of experience in the motor industry in Ireland having worked with brands such as BMW, MINI, Volkswagen and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles at importer level. He joins SEAT Ireland from within Volkswagen Group Ireland where he was Head of Group Used Vehicles.

Speaking at the announcement, Niall Phillips commented; “I am delighted to be joining SEAT at a time when the brand is very much on the rise. From within Volkswagen Group Ireland I have witnessed the great strides SEAT has made and look forward to continuing this positive momentum over the coming years. It is a tenacious brand offering real value for money as well as quality products, both principles which are really important to me also.  SEAT’s 22 professional and experienced dealers has ensured sustained growth for the brand in Ireland in recent years and I look forward to continuing to strategically develop the network further in line with brand development ”.

Niall recently announced a record breaking month for January 2015 with 828 units sold versus 635 in January 2014. This represents year-on-year sales growth of 30% and a current market share of 2.8% thanks to an increasing product range, competitive offers and attractive finance from Volkswagen Bank. SEAT’s global sales are also enjoying an upward curve with SEAT breaking the 390,000 vehicle mark globally in 2014.”

Lars Himmer, CEO of Volkswagen Group Ireland commented; “We are delighted to appoint Niall to the brand director position of SEAT and we feel he is the ideal person to carry forward the ambitious plans that we have for 2015 and beyond. SEAT is enjoying a tremendous period so it is a really exciting opportunity for Niall.”
