OSRAM’s lighting range is in the spotlight as part of a mountain rescue-equipped Land Rover Defender featured on the BBC Two show The Speedshop.

As part of the feature, Land Rover accessory brand Terrafirma helped to customise a Defender 110 for Exmoor Search and Rescue, supplying and fitting OSRAM’s LEDriving Round MX180-CB to the vehicle, modified for rescue and recovery operations on soft ground and water.

OSRAM’s LEDriving Round MX180-CB provides up to 300 metres of light, with high optical efficiency, whether drivers are taking to dark country roads or forest paths, off the beaten tracks or on-road.

“The MX180-CB provides excellent off-road capability with its robust build and IP69K certification meaning it can withstand extreme environments. The aluminium housing and stable polycarbonate lens means the package is light and versatile but strong,” said Terri Clark, lighting marketing manager at OSRAM.

She added, “It’s great that Terrafirma chose OSRAM for the lighting equipment to go on board the Defender 110. The MX180-CB’s credentials make it the perfect product for high-quality, long-range visibility in challenging locations and situations, so we’re delighted to see this in action helping in such crucial search and rescue operations.”

The MX180-CB features 12 powerful, high-performance long-life LEDs and even in dim light provides unparalleled foresight both on and off-road, with its 6000 kelvin light beam creating settings similar to daylight.

The Speedshop show, broadcast on BBC Two on Sunday evenings at 8pm, features former special services soldier Titch Cormack, who now builds custom vintage vehicles, with a team of engineers who work alongside him.
