Honda is pinning part of its hopes for a global car sales revival on the launch of a new hybrid model. Honda says the Insight will be "The most affordable hybrid car on the market" and hopes to sell 200,000 models per year.


The company believes the Insight holds the key to not only boosting its sales, but also increasing its percentage of hybrids sold per year. This currently stands at around 3% of total units, which Honda hopes to increase to 10% by the end of 2010.
 
Unlike existing Honda hybrids, the Insight is a five-door hatch back on an all-new chassis, not one adapted from existing models.
