Blue Print has added to its gas strut range which was introduced in 2011. The new introductions are based on the results of feedback on high failure applications and the new additions mean the range has now been expanded to  170 references which cover 600 popular applications.

Gas struts are used for boot lids, glass openings and some vehicle’s bonnets. Because they often experience daily, repetitive use, over time they lose their effectiveness. This means that in some cases they are not able to hold the boot or bonnet fully open, finally resulting in total failure.

Blue Print recommends that garages check the struts on every vehicle, every time a car is in the workshop. This provides an additional business opportunity and avoids inconvenience for the customer. It is recommended that gas struts are always replaced in pairs to maintain balance and avoid further failures.

The new references and applications recently added to the range are:
  • ADN15815 – Gas Strut Tail Gate – Nissan Pathfinder 2.5DT, 4.0i 2005>, 3.0DT 2010>
  • ADT35819 – Gas Strut Tail Gate – Toyota Avensis 1.8i, 2.0DT, 2.0i 1997>2003
