New car sales dipped in November to take some of the shine off what has generally been a good year for dealers and manufacturers. The SIMI reports sales of 1,461 units last month, 13.81% down on November 2006 when sales were at 1,695 helped by maturing SSIAs. However, sales for the first 11 months of 2007 stand at 186,096 almost 5% up on the same period in 2006 when sales reached 177,488.

Sales of light commercial vehicle have also shown a year to date increase of 7.5% while heavy commercial vehicle sales are down by 6.6% on last year.
