Wulf Gaertner Autoparts has expanded its MEYLE Asia Line with the introduction of a new HD part, a tie rod end for the Nissan Micra III.
The tie rod end assembly on the Nissan Micra III (K 12) is known to suffer from frequent problems. To combat this engineers at Wulf Gaertner Autoparts AG have devised a spare part with increased ball pin diameter made from only the most durable materials. The result is a considerably stronger component than the original OE version, something reflected in the part’s extended four-year warranty.
The original tie rod end on these Micras, manufactured until 2004, are prone to give problems such as excessive noise generated at the front axle or excessive steering play. Typically, the root cause is the tie rod end assembly which tends to wear out easily. By expanding the ball pin diameter the loads applied to the ball are distributed across a larger surface, which reduces the stress on the plastic socket fitted in the joint.
The MEYLE plastic socket has also been redesigned to make it more robust, allowing it to withstand stress peaks such as those which occur when the vehicle hits a deep pothole or is being steered while stationary. The use of low-friction materials also helps minimise wear and wear-reducing lubricating additives added to the high-tech grease help prevent in-part corrosion.
The new MEYLE-HD tie rod end for the Nissan Micra III (K 12) until 2004 YOM can be ordered under MEYLE part numbers 36-16 020 0081/HD (LH) and 36-16 020 0090/HD (RH).
The part is available from motor factors and is distributed in Ireland by Strongline Autoparts. For further information about MEYLE products for the Aftermarket please call 01-462-4631.
