The latest vehicle gadgets will drop in value far faster than cars themselves, according to the latest Glass’s figures. The used car valuation experts says that the value of items fitted to a car such as radar cruise control, can drop a massive 86% in a year, while the car itself will decline about 40%. Similarly a night vision system will lose about 80% of its value in the first 12 months.

However, Richard Crosthwaite, Prestige Car Editor at GlassGuide.co.uk says some options do increase the saleability of a vehicle, particularly those that enhance the cars aesthetic appeal. He says “Investing in a manufacturer-fit styling upgrade is often very worthwhile, as it can return more than 100 per cent of its original cost.”
Alloys, sat-navs and sun roofs also help to sell a used vehicle when fitted.
