Oil and additive specialist LIQUI MOLY is providing older petrol and diesel engines with a new lease of life through two simple but powerful additive cleaners.

Over the course of many years, engines lose more and more of their performance. At the same time fuel consumption goes up, as do emissions values. This is caused by deposits on the injection system that impede combustions.

In petrol engines, when this happens LIQUI MOLY injector cleaner can provide a lifeline. Petrol never combusts completely or cleanly in the engine. David Kaiser, Head of Research and Development at LIQUI MOLY explains, “There are always combustion deposits that settle in the injection system and disrupt the injection of petrol. This makes combustion even worse and deposits are created even more quickly, a vicious cycle. The older the engine is, the more encrustations it carries around with it on the inside. And the poorer the petrol quality is, the more deposits are created.”

Restoring the original performance and consumption values can be straight forward. LIQUI MOLY Injection Cleaner is simply poured into the fuel tank. Every time the engine is running, the cleaning ingredients, together with the petrol, get into the injection system and disintegrate the encrustations. The dissolved dirt is burnt in the engine and emitted together with the exhaust gases. The combustion chamber becomes clean again. In the event of tough dirt it can become necessary to use a can of Injection Cleaner for several refuelling processes in a row. Injection Cleaner can also be used preventively with one can every 2,000 kilometres ensuring that new deposits cannot form in the first place.

LIQUI MOLY Super Diesel Additive offers the same cleaning performance for diesel engines. It removes deposits from entire fuel system, prevents future build ups, protects injection system components from wear, prevents seizing and the injector needles from gumming up and guarantees optimum combustion. It is suitable for all diesel engines, including common rail and pumped-jet high-pressure injection as well as in vehicles with or without a diesel particulate filter.

Both Injection Cleaner and Super Diesel Additive are great opportunities for workshops to upsell and generate additional turnover. They can be applied directly in the garage or sold to the customer.
