One of the most notable aspects of Automechanika Birmingham was the number of technicians and garage operators visiting the show, with many travelling from Ireland. The Automechanika organisers made a conscious effort to attract end users. Those that did attend were not disappointed
Automechanika Birmingham set out to provide an opportunity for the major manufacturers and aftermarket brands to talk direct to garages, providing technicians the chance to meet face to face with technical experts from many parts suppliers. Visitors got to see the latest parts, tools and equipment up close and in many instances, see practical demonstrations of products. They also had a chance to ask important technical questions and take away lots of information. From the exhibitor perspective, meeting garage end users was also important, to get direct feedback on their products and services and the latest market intelligence from people on the ground in the aftermarket.
As well as talking to exhibitors and taking away a wealth of information, garage visitors were also very positive about the Automechanika seminar programme. Spread over three different theatres, these seminars gave key suppliers the opportunity to present garages with ideas on improving their business and to show new technology coming down the line.
One of the many Irish garage operators to visit the show was Barry Ward of Auto Repairs, Navan. He said, "I was very impressed by the event. It gave me the opportunity to talk directly to people from companies that supply the parts I use every day, as well as seeing components up close and finding out about developments coming down the line. You definitely get enough useful information and new ideas to make the visit very worthwhile.”
