Its official, the makers of the world’s cheapest car are now the proud owners of two of the world’s most prestigious marques, Jaguar and Land Rover. The Indian conglomerate has bought the two famous UK carmakers from Ford.
Tata has said that the jobs of the 13,500 employees in the UK are safe for the foreseeable future, as Jaguars and Land Rovers will continue to be manufactured in Britain. Ironically the sale comes at a time when the fortunes of Jaguar and Land Rover look to be on the up, as new models have been well received and export sales are going well.
