Philips Automotive has announced that it has linked up with the star of the Wheeler Dealers TV series, Edd China, to promote its workshop lighting product range.

The celebrity mechanic commented, “I got my hands on a couple of the Philips workshop lights last year and was really impressed.” Both the Philips Penlight Premium and Multi Directional Lighting system can often be seen being put to good use in Wheeler Dealers. Having seen that Edd was using the lights in the TV programme, Philips contacted him, to see how everyone might work together.

Edd China’s role in Wheeler Dealers is as the mechanical expert who solves all of the problems with the cars brought in for restoration. Off screen, not all that much changes, as he is the proprietor of Grease Junkie, an independent service facility in Bracknell, Berks. With a degree in Engineering Product Design and daily dealings in the workshop, Edd China is also exceptionally well placed to know a good product when he sees one.

Edd says, “You can see that Philips has carefully researched the needs of a workshop technician and come up with a range of products that are really suited to the task. They are great to use, really illuminate the areas they need to and there are some very clever features on each of the products.”

Edd will now feature in a promotional campaign that runs through into the New Year, that will effectively see him becoming the face of Philips Workshop lights across Ireland the the UK and into Europe, where Wheeler Dealers also has a strong following.

Philips range of Workshop Inspection Lights is currently six strong, with two Penlights, three rechargeable Inspection Lamps of differing sizes and the revolutionary three-unit, Multi Directional Lighting System.
