Driving-in to the bodyshop future?

A new drive-in accident repair centre has opened in the UK. Called ‘Halo’ it is based in Westbury, Wiltshire and thought to be the first business of its kind.

The owners of Halo, Bradley and Ros Hanson, who also own PMC group bodyshops in Sussex and Dorset say they aim to move away from the 'traditional' bodyshop environment by creating a new retail environment for customers.

Customers drive into the centre and see their car put on a track which takes it through the various repair stages. In many cases a customer can wait in a viewing room which as well as Wi-Fi and refreshments has a pitch and putt area. Many cars are repaired on a while you wait basis, although average repair cycle time is said to be 24 hours.

Ros Hanson says the aim is to repair a car in hours not days and ensure customers are entirely happy with an exceptional service they would recommend to others.
