Chrysler Ireland has announced it is to sponsor the inaugural Donadea Trophy, the only Open Seniors Mixed Scotch Foursome golf tournament in Ireland. The event is scheduled to take place on June 26th 2012 at the Knockanally Golf Club in Donadea, Co. Kildare and will coincide with the opening of the new, all-brand dealership located adjacent the FIAT Group headquarters on the Naas Road.

This unique tournament is limited to 18 teams of eight golfers from the Leinster region this year, but will grow to accommodate 30 teams from all over Ireland in 2013. Chrysler Ireland will have its full range of luxury vehicles on display at the event, not only to commemorate the opening of the new flagship dealership but also to showcase the Yspilon, Delta, Grand Voyager and 300C against a salubrious and breath-taking backdrop.

Knockanally Golf Club was designed by the land's owner, Noel Lyons, in 1983 on the grounds of what used to be the Coates estate, established by Matthew "Miner" Coates in 1777. In 2010 the golf course became the remit of the club members who immediately began planning this unique event to raise the Knockanally's profile and standing within the golfing community.

The distinctive clubhouse dates back to 1843 and was described in Kevin Markham's bestselling book "Hooked: An Amateur's Guide to the Golf Courses of Ireland" (2011) as "one of the most entertaining clubhouses you'll find...it would be worth coming for that alone". He also described the course itself as "a golf society's heaven".
