The HBA Team completed a series of three Autotech Roadshows in January, with very well attended events in Claremorris, Mallow and Ashbourne. Feedback from each of the technical evenings was very positive with both garages and motor factor staff finding them very informative.

Each show featured technical presentations by experts in their fields, John Ely from TUNAP Chemicals, Stuart Tagg from Brembo Braking and Paul Hammond from Autel Diagnostics.
John Ely of TUNAP explained how his company’s unique DPF Cleaning system was giving a new lease of life to Diesel Particulate Filters that most garages believe need replacing, boosting workshop profitability, while saving customers thousands of Euro. John went through the many reasons why DPFs become blocked and why on many vehicles, the regeneration process is ineffective.

He then presented a simple solution to the blocked DPF issue in the form of TUNAP 131, an effective DPF cleaning solution that safely dissolves excess ash and TUNAP 132 a DPF flushing agent.  Using these products and the TUNAP DPF cleaning kit a DPF can generally be thoroughly cleaned in-situ on the vehicle in around 3 hours to an as new condition. This can not only save a huge amount on a replacement DPFs, plus fitting cost, but also provide the customer with a much quicker and more convenient solution.

The system has gained wide spread recognition from vehicle manufacturers and is approved by GM, Fiat and Suzuki, with more formal approvals on the way.  John went on to show the benefits of some of the other innovative products in the TUNAP range, including an active foam EGR Valve Cleaner, a throttle body cleaner and very useful regen aid additive for preventative maintenance on DPFs.

Brembo’s Stuart Tagg then gave a presentation that included information on the company’s rich heritage as a leading supplier of braking systems to both motor sport teams and car manufacturers.

Brembo has been a name synonymous with high quality braking components for more than 55 years and is the choice of preference for F1 teams, Moto GP teams, supercar makers and increasingly premium car manufacturers.

Stuart explained some of the factors that make Brembo brake discs and pads stand out from the competition and what makes them so sought after by many motoring enthusiasts. HBA are now official distributors in Ireland for Brembo and Stuart went on to explain plans to develop a nationwide network Official Brembo Expert Dealers and Brembo Expert Fitters, who once appointed, will have their contact details appear on the prestigious Brembo World Map, which receives many thousands of online hits each week.

An insight into some of the latest diagnostic developments in the market was given by Paul Hammond of Autel Diagnostics. Paul gave a rundown of the very practical diagnostic systems available from Autel, which are designed to suit various needs and budgets. He showed how the powerful tablet based devices are very easy to use and offer excellent vehicle coverage. He also explained about the economical update options available.

Dermot Haughey of HBA Distributor said that he was delighted with the support the shows had received. He commented, "The attendance at each event was very impressive and I would like to thank all who came along. The feedback on the presentations was very positive and we would hope to run further Autotech Roadshows in the future.”
