If you want proof that stunts for social media videos have gotten more than a little out of hand, then the latest 14 second YouTube offering from the mystifyingly popular MrBeast might just provide this.

In the video he destroys a Lamborghini Gallardo, worth in the region of €100,000, by constantly having it driven into increasingly strong walls of rolls of duct tape.

The idea is to answer a question that literally no one has ever asked, “How Much Tape To Stop A Lamborghini?” Although nobody really needs to know the answer, the video has amassed some 180 million views.

For the record the car could easily cope with up to 5000 rolls, but started to sustain damage at 10,000 rolls before eventually being totally destroyed by 25,000 rolls.

The whole stunt was not only a waste of a perfectly good Lamborghini, but also a waste of perfectly good duct tape, all in the name of an ultra brief talking point in playgrounds, whether they be real life or digital. It has even received many negative comments from many of MrBeast’s own followers.

Draw your own conclusions about whether it was a worthwhile exercise, but we have chosen not to supply a link.
