As well as Automechanika Birmingham providing more than 550 high quality exhibitors and three seminar theatres with industry leaders presenting profitable and thought provoking ideas, the exhibition is also providing a ‘New Product Showcase’, ‘Innovation Trail’ and a ‘Workshop of the Future’ feature area to demonstrate to visitors the latest developments in the automotive industry and supply chain.

The ‘Workshop of the Future’ features interactive technology and the latest developments in the industry that will represent the future for the independent workshop. The stand hosts companies such as, Tesla, HELLA, Gemco, IMI and S&B Training, all of which will be displaying their advanced products, including vehicle electrification, battery technology, technical training and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), throughout the three days of Automechanika Birmingham.

The IMI will present the ‘Learning Zone’ in which the company will be showing their eLearning modules, testing the visitor’s knowledge on their core skills and using multimedia to stimulate knowledge through interactive learning methods.

Adjacent to this, will be Tesla’s ‘Electric Vehicle and Battery Technology Zone’, housing the company’s Model S car and supercharger for the battery, which will demonstrate the electric vehicle and its charging capabilities.

Gemco will also have a section entitled the ‘Equipment and Design Zone’ where it will be showing the latest garage equipment including the most up to date products from DURA Workshop Systems.

The ‘ADAS Calibration Zone’ hosted by HELLA GUTMANN SOLUTIONS, which will be showcasing its latest camera and radar system calibration tool. ADAS technology will undoubtedly dominate the future of vehicle repair because in addition to crash repair and windscreen replacement, even everyday tasks such as steering and suspension replacement will require camera recalibration.

The ‘Workshop of the Future’ will additionally be playing host to S&B Training for the ‘Training Zone’ to show the emergence of 3D and augmented training for workshop technicians. Inviting visitors to test themselves on the latest technology in virtual and immersive 3D training, the company through the SimSpray Training System, will highlight the benefits of skills training.

Finally in the feature area is the ‘Diagnostics Zone’, which will display some of the latest advancements that are transforming the way data is managed and communicated to deliver comprehensive diagnostic information.
