UFI Filters has further strengthened its relationship with the largest car manufacturer in Europe, the Volkswagen Group, with confirmation that is to be future sole supplier of the fuel filtration systems for the 1.6 and 2.0 litres EA288 EVO diesel engines on the MQB platforms.

Both engines feature in the German company’s most popular category. They are installed in a number of different models, including the Volkswagen Golf, T-Roc, Tiguan, Touran and Passat; the Audi A3, Q2 and Q3; the Škoda Kodiaq and Octavia, as well as in the SEAT Ateca, Leon and Tarraco. This provides each model with advantages in terms of fuel consumption, comfort and performance.

The UFI fuel filter is mounted on the economical 1.6 TDI and the powerful 2.0 TDI, ensuring proper engine function by protecting the injection system and allowing for a reduction in fuel consumption and pollutant emissions. The filtering module is composed of a cellulose-based, environmentally friendly, immersion cartridge, with a layer of very thin synthetic fibres (meltblown) on the outside. It has an impurity filtering capacity of more than 95% for particles of up to 3 μm.

The structure of the body and cover with hydraulic fittings features coated steel, which provides excellent resistance to corrosion, explosion and impact. The filter also has a system to assist cold starting, through partial diesel recirculation, which thus allows a reduction in consumption and emissions in line with the Euro 6d-TEMP-EVAP-ISC standard.
