Double European Rallycross TouringCar champion Derek Tohill was in action in Canada last weekend, just missing out on a semi final place at the seventh round of the FIA World Rallycross Championship at Trois-Rivieres.

After some fast lap times in practice and the early heats, a step up change on the car saw Derek finish 12th in heat three. He then just missed out on the top ten finish required to make the semis after an early coming together with another car in heart four in his LD Motorsports Citroen DS3 backed by PartsforCars.

Speaking after the event, Derek was upbeat about the Canadian round, commenting, “It’s such a great facility here and a really enthusiastic crowd. The schedule was really tight and the team were under a lot of pressure, but the guys did a great job and we were able to add a few championship points to our tally.”

The next round of World RX Championship takes place in Loheac, France on September 6th and 7th.
