TEXA was one of the most innovative companies at Automechanika, both in terms of design and award winning new products on offer. Over two floors the stand was dominated by a 4 Metre high robot transformer, while new innovations on display covered vehicle diagnostics, telemobility and a new RCM motorcycle rev counter, that measures engine speed by means of electromagnetic waves.
TEXA also had the honour of picking up two Automechanika Innovation Awards. In the category "Electronics and Systems”, TEXA’s TMD MK3, a multi-brand tele-mobility product won the top prize. This unique product integrates within one device, which can be connected to the vehicle’s OBD socket, multi-brand diagnostic module; 2G, 3G, 4G and LTE phone module; 4.0 Classic and LE Bluetooth module; GNSS module; 2 triaxial accelerometers; gyroscope; altimeter and dual microprocessor. Thanks to TMD, the vehicle is connected to the network allowing many customised functions, with particular attention to safety and economy. This offers huge potential in areas such as Car Pooling, Car Sharing, E-Call, B-Call, E-Toll, Alcohol and Drug Detection, Driver Identification, Vehicle-to-Vehicle or Vehicle-to-Infrastructure Dialogue, and Traffic Management.
The second futurist TEXA technology to win an award was augmented reality glasses created in collaboration with Epson Italia. These glasses allow technicians to view diagnostic data in their eye-line without the need to look away from the job, particularly useful in cramped spaces. The glasses also respond to voice commands and can warn a mechanic of dangerous operations with clearly visible signals.
TEXA was also displaying its latest advances in TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems) and new developments with it AXONE S, the first ever multi-utility diagnostic tool and NAVIGATOR TXBs, its new bike and marine interface. Also featured was CARe, a practical device for connecting a car to the Internet simply and quickly.
