The latest round of Eure!Car Certified Master Class training showcases has taken place at the brand new Grup Eina International Technical Training Centre located close to Dublin Airport and in Cork, Limerick and Galway. The first of the series of well attended showcases marked the opening of the highly impressive new facility at the Metro Point Business Park, Swords, which will provide a base for both Grup Eina training and technical telephone support services for Ireland, the UK and other European countries.

Eure!Car is a new concept in automotive training which has received a hugely positive response from the Irish independent aftermarket in recent months. It provides garage owners and technicians with practical hands-on training on a local basis. The training modules are built around specially adapted cars which have a device called a Gedbox which can simulate technical issues on the vehicle. By doing this, those attending the course can gain a practical insight into how to diagnose, trace and resolve common vehicles issues.

Training will take place at various venues across Ireland, including many motor factor outlets, as well as at the new training facility. Grup Eina International is working closely with J&S Automotive which is the Irish partner of the Automotive Distribution International organisation to deliver the training and technical support concept which has already proved very successful in many other European countries. To date Grup Eina has delivered over 1400 courses in seven countries to 21,000 attendees. The major resources involved in delivering this training includes more than 100 employees and 35 specially adapted vehicles.

At the first of the showcases, attended by technicians from right across Ireland, Grup Eina International Managing Director, Dani Orta, explained how the organisation’s vast experience in delivering technical training and information meant it could tailor training to the practicalities of the latest aftermarket needs. For example, each of the cars can be programmed with 28 different technical issues all of which are based on the volume of calls to the Grup Eina technical support line.

Each of the actual training programmes lasts a day and a half, with 70% of the sessions practically based on the adapted vehicles. Numbers are strictly limited at each session and technicians are invited to bring their own equipment to get fully involved with the fault identification and diagnostic process.

Dani Orta pointed out that the objective of the programme was to give independent garages the confidence, knowledge and access to information which would allow them to fix any car, no matter how advanced. In particular training is designed to give technicians methodical and logical methods to solve technical issues more efficiently without the trial and error of unnecessary and expensive parts replacement.
It was also explained that participants in the programme get a comprehensive course workbook, including full wiring diagrams and free access to the technical support line, staffed by training technicians who have full access to all vehicle manufacturer repair and service data, as well as a huge database of technical issues which have been addressed by the Grup Eina Technical Centre in Spain.

At the training showcases attendees were shown around the purpose designed 800 sq meter facility. This includes a fully equipped training workshop, classroom training facilities and the new technical call centre. They also got to meet the trainers who have been employed for Ireland.
