Opel is to show a new experimental concept car at the Munich Auto Show in September which previews the future design direction and technology of the Stellantis owned German brand.

The Opel Experimental concept is an all-electric compact crossover that is aerodynamically efficiency and uses lots of contrasting colours and lighting.

The car features lots of advanced ADAS technology and has cameras rather than mirrors. To reduce its drag factor there is a rear diffuser, several active flaps and an aerodynamic wheel design.

The car features steer by wire technology which allows the steering wheel to fold away if the vehicle is put in to self driving mode. The car will feature many voice activation systems and will not have normal interior information screens, but will a head-up display with augmented reality supported by artificial intelligence.

Opel plans to be an all electric brand in Europe by 2028 and much of the technology seen on this concept is expected to make its way into production vehicle design.
