Longford garage highlights practical benefits of Eure!Car Training
Share:

The Eure!Car training programme continues to deliver high quality practical training for independent garages right across Ireland. The training uses specially adapted vehicles that can simulate common vehicle issues and allows technicians to get hands on solving problems on some of the very latest vehicles and systems.

The training is specifically designed to boost knowledge and skill levels so that technicians have the confidence to tackle ever more complex jobs and open up increased business opportunities.

One garage that has really seen the benefit of this training is McKeons Garage in Longford. Owner Alan McKeon has now attended five courses and has always found them very worthwhile. He comments, "Every course to date has been very good and really gives you a proper insight into developing technology. They are designed for mechanics, with less emphasis on classroom based theory and more on practical hands on skills.” He adds, "I have also found that they are suitable for a wide variety of skill levels, from diagnostic novices up to more experienced diagnostic technicians, with everyone getting something out of it.”

Alan is also full of praise for the Eure!Car training facility in Swords and singles out the instructors as being especially important to the learning experience. He comments, "The Eure!Car team are excellent. They are very knowledgeable on each course content and also very open to one-on-one discussions. They always take time to answer questions and find answers to practical problems, even if not directly related to the specific course. It means you take way valuable nuggets of information from every course you attend that you can put to practical use in your garage.”

A good example of this is with the most recent course Alan has attended on the direct petrol injection Golf, which he says has already been a great help in his everyday repair and diagnostic work.

Like most garage owners time is precious for Alan and taking time out to attend the course does prove a challenge. However he does think it is well worth it. He comments, "It is hard to take time away from the everyday pressures of business, but you have to take a longer term perspective. You have to look at this type of training as an investment that can help ensure you are ready for future challenges and one that plays a vital role in securing your business future.”
