Autodata highlight Evoque fuel supply solution

Vehicle data specialist Autodata has issued a new Autodocta case on its digital channels, this time concerning a starting issue with a 2016 Land Rover Evoque.

The 2016 Evoque 2,0 Diesel model was in a workshop with an intermittent non start issue. This would mean the vehicle would crank, but  not start. The fault code in the engine control module fault memory was displaying a code related to the fuel system. A fix of replacing the fuel pressure sensor worked for a short time, but the vehicle later returned with the same fault.

Autodata was able to see similar fuel supply issues on Land Rover Evoque models with the 2,0 Diesel engine, from 2016 onwards. The trouble code is P0087 and relates to the low pressure fuel system. The trouble code is generated due to low fuel pressure which is caused by the in-tank fuel pump assembly fuel supply line coming adrift. The solution is to remove the fuel tank to gain access to the in-tank fuel pump assembly. The technician should ensure the in-tank fuel pump assembly fuel supply line is correctly fitted. They should then erase fault code and carry out a road test to ensure fault has been rectified.

Autodoctas cases are published weekly on the Facebook page @AutodataGroup!
