e-station offers tailored EV charging solutions

Battery electric and plug-in hybrid sales were two high spots in an otherwise very depressed year for vehicle sales in Ireland in 2020. Demand for electric cars is expected to spiral in 2021, meaning Ireland’s motor trade needs to be ready to handle this increasingly important sector of the market.

e-station is a key player in the rapidly expanding e-mobility sector, providing a broad range of Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging solutions to a variety of automotive businesses including; Franchise Dealerships, Independent Garages, Service Centres, Accident Repair Centres and NCT and DOE Centres. The e-station range includes everything from simple Wall Mounted AC chargers through to high output DC Chargers, meaning it can offer solutions for both current and future EV service needs.

The company provides a turnkey service including supply and commissioning of EV charging equipment, together with all associated electrical and civil works, including car park bay painting. It also provides energy monitoring and management reporting software and connected support and maintenance services.

When e-station began to service the EV sector in 2014, customer needs were typically limited to their home charging requirements. e-station met this with the installation of relatively basic 3.6kw to 7.4kW wall mounted chargers. Since then, needs have developed to include higher output AC chargers (up to 22kW) and also the facility to measure and report on energy consumption.

Additionally, as employers seek to introduce electric vehicle to their fleets, e-station has met a growing demand for networked EV charger solutions, whereby home and work-based chargers are monitored and managed collectively. This approach facilitates comprehensive energy consumption reporting to enable re-imbursement of employees for home charging, as well as offering the facility to monetize work chargers when making them available to 3rd parties.

e-station has also enabled customers who require faster user turnaround with the deployment of DC Fast Chargers which, depending on output (ranging from 20kW to 350kW), can fully re-charge electric vehicles in minutes rather than hours.

By working closely with customers, e-station will determine current and future EV charging requirements and design and deliver a cost effective solution to meet those needs, whether a business is selling, servicing repairing or simply driving electric vehicles.
