Refinish specialist Standox has introduced two new products, VOC Xtreme Filler U7600 and Express Prep Wipes U3000, that can notably accelerate the substrate pre-treatment process.

Standox says it’s new VOC-Xtreme Filler U7600 is very simple and quick to apply in a single process step, without intermediate flash-off times, in up to four coats. Its high vertical stability also makes it very reliable in use. However, the greatest benefit of VOC Xtreme Filler U7600 becomes apparent when it is dried at ambient temperatures with drying times significantly reduced.

“When dried at ambient temperatures of 20°C, the filler is ready for sanding after just 20 to 40 minutes,” says Kevin Welling, Training Academy Manager for Axalta Coating Systems. “This not only makes it possible for bodyshops to increase their throughput, but also helps them to cut energy costs.” He adds, “Refinishers don't have to worry about moving and adjusting IR drying devices. Thanks to the product’s fast air-drying properties, a large number of areas that require filling can be dried at the same time. Forced drying can also be used, which can keep idle time to an absolute minimum. Using VOC Xtreme Filler U7600 and the Express Prep Wipes U3000 can help bodyshops to make lasting efficiency improvements to their work processes.”

If the VOC Xtreme Filler U7600 is used on bare metal, refinishers must use the Express Prep Wipes U3000. These wipes contain highly effective substances, which, by simply wiping the surface, help to ensure proper adhesion of the filler and provide outstanding corrosion protection. Compared to the use of an etch primer, using the wipes means flash-off times before application of the filler are reduced by up to 20 minutes. A single cloth is sufficient to pre-treat approximately two square metres of substrate. The cloth is also chromate-free and easy to dispose of after use.

Standox says that used in combination with the VOC Xtreme Clear K9580, bodyshops who want to increase their profitability and efficiency can rely on its process for extremely fast and energy-saving products.
