Euro NCAP the European safety rating specialists have awarded a 5 star rating to the Citroen Spacetourer, Peugeot Traveller and Toyota Proace vans, which all share a common design.

After tests of the 2.0-diesel version, the vehicles achieved an 87% rating in the Adult Occupant category, 91% in Child Occupant protection, 64% in Pedestrian protection and 78% in Safety Assist. The rating applies to both passenger and cargo version of the design.

The collaboration between PSA Peugeot Citroen and Toyota Motor Europe is aimed at offering a  competitive vehicle in the midsize light commercial van, Combi and shuttle sectors. The vans will make their official debut later in the year at the Geneva Motor Show.
