Bosch is renowned as a true innovator in the automotive world and much of the drive for the latest developments in automotive electronics, comes from it Automotive Research and Development Centre based in Limerick.

The global technology and services provider, established the R&D centre in Limerick in 2021, creating 30 high skilled job roles, with a special focus on the vital field of semiconductor products, as well as automotive electronics.

The location in Ireland’s Mid-West, has a rich history in the design and development of semiconductor products, going back almost 50 years. More recently, the region has emerged as a hub for automotive software and system development. The establishment of Bosch’s Automotive R&D Centre in Limerick recognises the increased demand for semiconductors, as cars evolve to become sustainable, safer and more exciting.

By utilising the knowledge and skills of the local workforce, together with Bosch’s deep system level knowledge in the automotive field, the facility is developing truly innovative and performance-optimised products, to meet the needs of tomorrow’s cars. The talented local engineers work with teams right across Europe, meaning that expertise from Ireland is playing a vital role in helping to shape the vehicle technology of the future.
