Axalta Coating Systems, the leading global supplier of liquid and powder coatings and the company behind the Standox, Spies Hecker and Cromax refinish brands in Ireland, has been presented with the Volvo Cars Quality Excellence (VQE) Award at a dedicated ceremony held at Axalta’s Wuppertal, production facility in Germany.

The VQE Award is given to those companies that meet the Award requirements and score 100% on a set of criteria, as defined by Volvo Cars, that measure excellence in different operational areas, including Trust, Logistics and Certificates.

Patrick de Wolf, Axalta’s Technical and Commercial Leader, said, “The work that leads up to being recognised with an award like this doesn’t happen overnight. It takes many people, working as a team, with a clear united focus on delivering the very best products and services possible to our customers.”

Dr. Norbert Weckes, Axalta’s site leader for Wuppertal, received the award together with Albrecht Luick, Axalta’s Business Director OEM, EMEA. Weckes said, “We are all driven to perform better every day, so our team is very proud to get this award. It is good to see that hard work and dedication to quality performance pays off.”
