Ryan Caldwell and Arthur Kierans battled an incredibly strong field to claim back-to-back victories in this year’s Sligo Pallets Forest Rally Championship

Driving a Skoda Fabia R5 the Motorsport Ireland Academy crew won the Jim Walsh Cork Forest Rally by just 2.2 seconds with the car showing all the signs of a huge battle on the eight stages of the event near Mallow.

The applied pressuer came from a pair of VW Polo Gti R5’s; Jason Mitchell and Paddy McCrudden and current Championship leader coming into the event Mark Donnelly and Sean Ferris pushed the youngster to the limit but couldn’t  break them.

In the 2WD sector, it was another back-to-back victory as Mickey Conlon and Paul McPhillips winning their category just like they had on the previous Moonraker Forest Rally.

Round five of the Sligo Pallets Forestry Rally Championship is the Lakelands Rally on the first weekend of September in Co. Fermanagh.
