Automechanika Birmingham has revealed its biggest ever bodyshop programme for 2023, with three new stand-out features announced.

The much-anticipated event will host its very first Paint & Spray Live, providing visitors with the opportunity to experience demonstrations first hand at the show and see the latest paints and spray guns in action within its fully ventilated and operational spray booth, courtesy of Masterflo.

Another brand-new feature for 2023 will be Collision Repair Live, with short, sharp demonstrations taking place every 15 minutes from leading suppliers to the UK repair sector. This will allow bodyshop visitors to get up-close and personal with the most up-to-date products and techniques to help them perform their tasks more effectively and efficiently. On display will be a range of sessions covering paint and spray guns, polishing, plastic repair, dent pulling, welding, including plastic welding, and more.

Also new for 2023 will be Detailing Live, with education partner and curator of the programme, The UK Detailing Academy, inviting professionals to join them for practical demonstrations and discussions about the sector’s challenges and opportunities.

Richard Hearn, UK sales director at Masterflo, said, “With so many exciting and informative segments specifically dedicated to bodyshop professionals set to take place at the show, it’s clear that Automechanika Birmingham is a must-attend event for those within the industry.

Automechanika Birmingham will also host the National Paint Championships, with the winner being announced in a live ceremony at the show on 7th June 2023. With the Championships being completely free to enter, automotive painters will be tasked with designing the most impressive car shell to showcase their classical paint technique, in a bid to be crowned National Paint Champion.

The designs will be on display during the course of the show from 6th – 8th June, and a professional jury will decide on their favourite design live on stage at the show.

There will also be a Bodyshop Training Hub, in association with Bodyshop Magazine. These sessions will provide the latest updates, advice and technical innovations for the UK's Collision Repair sector. Covering ADAS, body repair, EV repair, paint, refinishing, BS10125 and more, the topics will be presented by renowned industry figureheads and experts.

Alex Jones, marketing director of Messe Frankfurt UK said: “Plans for 2023 are now well underway, and it’s so uplifting to see so much support and enthusiasm from the bodyshop community. Automechanika Birmingham will provide the perfect opportunity to shine a spotlight on the amazing work they do and bring it to life across a number of insightful and eye-catching displays and demonstrations.”
