Wiper blade manufacturer, TRICO, has announced that it is the original equipment manufacturer for front and rear wiper blades on the Volkswagen T7 and ID Buzz.

The ID Buzz, electric van, has been voted 2022's ‘Car of the Year’ in multiple countries, including Ireland and Denmark, and the plug in hybrid van, T7, both have TRICO wiper blades as the OE fitment. As more vehicles are being manufactured with the environment in mind, these two vehicles are a perfect example of the new, environmentally friendly high tech vehicles that are entering the car parc.

TRICO’s ‘X1’ design blade is used for the front wipers of both models, a blade that has previously been validated by VAG group and is already supplied as OE for multiple models. This same design blade is available to TRICO’s aftermarket customers in the recently launched Exact Fit range of vehicle specific wiper kits.

TRICO’s Group Brand & Marketing Manager (Europe), Sam Robinson, said, “Wiper blades are such a safety critical component that manufacturers and drivers need a product they can trust. Premium quality really is paramount, which is where TRICO stands out from the crowd. With that in mind, it’s a huge honour to extend further our long term partnership with VAG to supply both front and rear blades - everyone knows the excellent quality of a Volkswagen and we are proud to be associated with such a prominent manufacturer.”

Sam added, “As TRICO has been manufacturing wiper blades for more than 100 years, we are confident in our engineering abilities and innovation, so we’re thrilled that Volkswagen continues to be one of many vehicle manufacturers that recognise this and trust TRICO to supply the vehicles of the future. Naturally, to maintain our unparalleled aftermarket coverage, this blade design will also become available to our aftermarket customers.”
